Fold uses the RBI-backed Account Aggregator (AA) framework to securely fetch data from your bank. This is a relatively new system, and while many banks are live, the experience can vary depending on the bank’s implementation.
Some banks like HDFC, ICICI, Axis, and IDFC work smoothly. Others might have temporary issues with discovery or linking - often due to internal downtimes or partial integrations.
Here are the most common reasons linking might fail -
- Your bank may not be supported by Fold yet.
- Check our supported banks list.
- See upcoming banks here.
- Currently, Fold supports only individual savings accounts. We plan to extend support to joint and current accounts as soon as banks and account aggregators start supporting them.
- Ensure your mobile number is correctly linked to your bank account.
- Some banks (e.g., Kotak, Union etc) have specific times when linking is more successful, often during night time.
In most of the cases, you can retry after few days at different times. If nothing else works, just write to us at support@fold.money.
